Tina & Clint - Hilton Fiji Fiji Weddings - Bula Bride

Tina & Clint – Hilton Fiji

Clint & Tina met on a Carnival Cruise Ship to the pacific islands in 2018. Tina was on a Carnival Cruise Facebook page she asked a silly question “does the ship have an iron onboard for formal night?”. This person (Clint) replied with an answer. From then there they chatted randomly in the chat group. Clint was going to go cruising with his daughter & mate, and Tina with a friend, so she suggested they should all catch up for drinks when they boarded. Consequently, they did and ended up chatting throughout the cruise to the Pacific Islands.

We catch up with Bride Tina on planning her wedding in Fiji:

BRIDE & GROOM: Tina & Clint Hooper
THE DATE: 29/10/2022
THE LOCATION: Hilton Beach Resort & Spa, Denarau Island
THE NUMBER OF GUESTS: 21

Clint’s dream was if he ever got married it would be in Fiji, as the pictures of Fiji are like postcards. We chose The Hilton on Denarau Island for the location close to the marina and amenities alike.

We used a travel agent to organise flights and accommodation given how many people 23 in total. It was a mission with a large group. Covid had plagued our wedding as we were to be married in 2020 with all flights and accommodation already booked at the time so there were many changes required.

We had a wedding planner at The Hilton who was fabulous. Bula Bride was huge help with research, answering a lot of questions we had in regard to legal requirements, and it had great tips and ideas to assist with our wedding planning.

GETTING READY:

My first thought of the day was “this day is finally here after waiting 2 1/2 years” due to covid postponing the original date, and our wedding day was finally happening.

The most special part of the morning was spending it with my 2 daughters & my daughter-in-law we had wine, laughed, reminisced. I was so excited to wake up and see our beautiful wedding ceremony being set up with perfect Fiji weather for the perfect day. The thought we are getting married today such a surreal feeling.

Hair & Make up was by Totoka Hair & Make Up. They were fabulous right through the pandemic with ongoing email updates right up to our wedding event. Lovely ladies, we were very happy with our styling and make up on the day.

My dress and the bridesmaids dresses were from Nova Chic Boutique Newcastle Australia. The Groom & the guys wore: Tarocash Menswear.

THE CEREMONY:

Location: Our location was on the lawn at the Hilton Beach Resort & Spa, it was absolutely beautiful as the resort’s grounds were stunning for the wedding venue with beach view in the background.

The Hilton Wedding Planner was fabulous organizing our wedding set up it was perfect. We chose tropical colors of Fiji Beach View Theme; the weather was perfect it truly made for the perfect wedding setting.

The Hilton organized everything from a local florist in Fiji, it was absolutely perfect as the flowers were exactly what we requested.

Walking down the aisle my first thought was I am “In Fiji” what a glorious place to walk down the aisle for our wedding. It was a day of so many emotions excitement, surreal, love and so much fun. We laughed throughout the service our celebrant was just beautiful & fun it certainly calmed any nerves. Our vows were provided by the wedding planner, we just added our little touch.

GETTING PHOTOS:

Anais Chaine Photography did our photos on the day. There were great reviews and photos online of Anais work we loved the style of photos and quality of her work.

We were looking for fun shots, some romantic images, and memorable sunset shots, and when we received our pictures, we thought they were just perfect. Sadly, we didn’t choose a videographer and we wished we had of now! But we love our photos as they really tell a story of the perfect day.

THE RECEPTION:

Location:  Our reception was at the Hilton Resort Vision Reception room, it was a beautiful room set up by the wedding planner.

We opted for a tropical theme with fairy lights, the flowers provided were stunning big bouquets of tropical flowers. They did a fabulous job. It was more than we expected.

For cocktail hour we provide red/white wines, beer, soft drink and canapes; this was perfect as our guests really enjoyed this time on the lawn mingling together. It really set the perfect scene with great views of the resort, gardens & the ocean.

For our dinner menu it was an international buffet, and it was beautiful, a large variety of food to suit everyone’s tastes. There was a large variety of meat salads and desserts. Hilton organized our cake, a 2-tier wedding cake with tropical flowers. fruit cake and mud cake on top it was beautiful.

For entertainment, we had DJ Works and they were fabulous, they provided great entertainment we chose our music. We absolutely recommend them. Guests went to the resort bar for further celebrations at the end of the reception.
