Courtney & Jack – Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort

Jack and Courtney met each other at High School in early 2009; not long after, Jack asked Courtney to be his girlfriend and they have been together ever since.

They wanted to get married on their 10 year anniversary in July 2019. After a bit of research they agreed the Fiji had the best weather for that month of the year and this kickstarted the planning process.

We catch up with bride Courtney on what was involved in planning her wedding:
BRIDE & GROOM: Courtney & Jack
THE DATE: Friday 26th of July 2019
THE LOCATION: Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort
THE NUMBER OF GUESTS: 39 adults 10 children

After a lot of researching on Fiji we decided on the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. The Outrigger stood out as a very family friendly resort and we knew we would have a few families joining us to celebrate our wedding. Once we had been in contact with the Outrigger we were invited to a Facebook group for Outrigger Brides. It was the most helpful group. They answered any questions we had and being able to read reviews from previous brides made the decision making a lot easier.

We booked our flights through Jenna at B&P Travel & Cruise and the rest we organised ourselves. The wedding was mainly planned through emails with the Outrigger. We used Bula Bride a few times to answer some of the questions I had. It was really nice to read about other brides experiences with their weddings.

GETTING READY

We decided to stay together the night before the wedding which made the morning of the wedding more relaxing for us. Once my mum, my bridesmaids and hair & make up artist arrived at the bure it was all go. I really enjoyed having a relaxing and fun filled morning with the girls. Jack and the boys got together early in the morning for breakfast. Then went to have their beards shaved ready for the big day. They then spent the rest of the morning relaxing by the pool having a few beers together.

Hair & Make Up for the Bride & bridesmaids was done by one of our close friends, Amelia Morrison. Amelia made the whole hair & make up process so easy and stress free for myself and my bridesmaids. After showing her a couple of photos of what I wanted she made it happen perfectly. I could not have asked for a better friend, hairdresser and make up artist all in one. She is AMAZING!

My dress was from: Grace Loves Lace
The Bridesmaids dresses were from: Esther & Co
The Groom & the guys wore: Lawrence Hunt & Connor

THE CEREMONY:

Location: The beautiful chapel at the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort. The colours we chose were white and hessian for the ceremony.

The Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort provided everything for our ceremony. Their decor was amazing and all that we had to do was pick a colour scheme and the rest was organised by the wonderful staff at the Outrigger.

The wonderful ladies at the Outrigger provided our beautiful flowers and bouquets. They were exactly how I imagined them to be. I only needed to show them one photo and they made them exactly the same.

GETTING PHOTOS:

Who was your photographer & why did you choose them?
Videoticz – Reenal Prasad. Absolutely amazing. We could not be happier with our photos. He was so easy to communicate with before and after the wedding. I did some research and really loved the style of photos Reenal created.

Who was your videographer & why did you choose them? Our videographer was Reenal and his team also. They were amazing and we didn’t even notice they were there.

Our photos are amazing, we love them all. We were lucky enough to be able to get photos on the beach as well as some scenic shots in the mountains, we had the best of both worlds with photos. Although the weather on the day made the sunset photos a little hard, we were glad we could get the nice overcast weather for the entire day. Perfect for photos.

THE RECEPTION:

Where was the location: The Vahavu Restaurant at the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.

White was the colour we used mostly. We teamed that with hessian sashes on the chairs. We had vases with white orchids and greens for the table centre pieces. It was all very simple but beautiful. The Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort provided the setup and decor for the reception.

What did you choose for cocktail hour?
For the cocktails we had chosen the Coral Collision and Fragipani Flow. The Coral Collision was definitely the go to cocktail. Everybody loved it and no-one’s glasses were ever empty!

What was on the dinner menu?
We chose the Southern BBQ Buffet. The food was absolutely delicious. Our guests at the wedding are still talking about how amazing the food was that night. The Outrigger also made our beautiful wedding cake. We had a two tier semi-naked cake. One layer vanilla cake and one layer of chocolate mud cake. It was absolutely delicious, we were eating it for days after the wedding.

Who was the music/DJ/entertainment by?
We chose the resort DJ,  DJ Inosi, he was also our MC and made the whole night run smoothly. Most of our guests wanted to keep partying at the end of the reception so they went to the cocktail bar at the Outrigger.
