About
We are a husband & wife team and love that we get to work side by side. We feel it is such an honour to be invited into one of the best days of a couple’s life together to capture the memories of a day that goes by in such a blur! We have such a strong connection and love for the ocean. One of our favourite things to do in our business would definitely be the underwater wedding portrait sessions. It’s a fun way for a bride to wear her wedding dress again and get some stunningly unique photos… plus the whole experience is a lot of fun!
Our photography sessions cover elopements, trash the dress, small wedding day packages through to full coverage. Leave your details for us to chat further!
Q&A WITH STU & MALIA
Tell us a little about your background?
We both grew up in California, moved away to Hawaii for Uni where we: met, fell in love, and got married. In 2010 we moved to Fiji.
What do you enjoy the most about what you do?
Of course we love the actual wedding day, but I think what we love the most, is hearing back from couples after they receive their images and albums being completely blown away.
Top tip for Bride & Grooms on their day?
Our top tip for couples would be to forget any and all stress that has led up to the day. This day is all about them so if they just focus on that, everything will be great! Things go wrong sometimes, but at the end of the day, they are married to their best friend and the little things don’t matter.
How did you begin your business and how long have you offered wedding photography?
10 years. I didn’t want to do weddings at first, I was scared of the responsibility. Then my friend begged me for weeks to shoot hers and I gave in. I was probably just as nervous as most brides and grooms on their wedding day because I didn’t want to ruin their wedding memories. Everything went well and I still look back at my first wedding with pride! From then on, people just kept asking me to shoot their wedding and business grew from there. We moved to Fiji in 2010 and I brought Stu in on the weddings, first to carry my gear bag, then to shoot the groom getting ready, and now he can run the show.
What inspired you to become a wedding photographer?
My mentor brought me along to a destination wedding on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was an intimate wedding with just the couple and a few family members. I loved the time we had to take the bride and groom away from the resort into the lava tubes and get creative with their bridal portraits. After all that, they invited us to sit down to dinner with them as a family and just enjoy the rest of the night. I was inspired by their kindness and their appreciation for capturing their special day and I want to preserve those memories for our own clients and give them a carefree relaxing day.
Do you have packages and what are they?
Yes, we have options that range from the bare essentials up to full day coverage and add-on’s like our highly sought after underwater sessions. We also have options for elopements.
Are you able to customize your photography packages?
Yes for sure.
How much lead time do you need for couples to confirm your services?
As long as we’re available, we’d shoot a wedding tomorrow if it came up that fast. You can also book in for the next year.
Do you have a favorite location to shoot and why?
In the water 🙂 Underwater Sessions are our favorite because they are so much fun! Also, we love being able to provide such an incredible, once in a lifetime experience for our clients. Wedding locations we love are Royal Davui, Paradise Cove, Marriott Momi Bay, and InterContinental.
