The Warwick is become a favorite for Fiji destination weddings. It has multiple options for a beach wedding and a deck that overlooks the ocean for a reception with the sea breeze.
After the stress of planning a wedding in Whitianga New Zealand, Simon & Ashely decided to follow their dream of a tropical wedding and switched to Fiji. With the only requirement being a swim up bar, they chose The Warwick Resort & Spa for their big day.
Captured by New Zealand Photographer Fiona Andersen, Ashley shares with us some details of their Warwick Fiji wedding.
The Dress / Dress was bought from Primrose and Finch in Auckland, New Zealand. The designer was Katya Katya Shehurina. The bridesmaid’s wore dresses from Asos. We all wore barefoot sandles from Forever soles and jewels from Samantha Wills.
The Ceremony / Was held on the beach at the Warwick near the adults pool. The setup was decorated with flowers and coconuts along the aisle, with white chairs decorated with blue ribbons. We had a traditional vow exchange followed by a sand ceremony.
The Reception / Was held at the Warwick Function Deck. The reception was decorated with Ball jars with tealights, blue vases, white flowers, starfish and shells.
The Cake / Was by the resort. Top tier was carrot and the bottom chocolate.
The Highlight / The Pastor pronounced us Mr & Mrs Ball’s was very funny the whole crowd burst in laughter. Marrying my best friend was the best and most important part of the day. Cake fight at the end of the night involving our guest was hilarious. Sharing our beautiful day with our closest friends and family, you know the people who have made the trip over are there because you are important to them. was very important for us to have our beautiful daughter play a big role in the day. We loved when our daughter cut in and joined us at the end of our first dance.
The Advice / Don’t Stress the small things or the smaller details. On the day it will all come together and the things you think are important prior to the wedding day won’t seem so important on the day. Let the planners do their jobs, whilst it is your wedding the planners do 100’s wedding’s year and know what they are doing. Don’t stress if the planners don’t respond to you quickly they will sort everything on arrival. Book in important suppliers like your photographer, makeup artists etc.. as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on your first picks.
