Bula Bride editor note: So I’m a sucker for shoes and the second I saw the super-stylish blue kicks on the groomsmen I knew this would be a cool wedding to feature. After flicking through some photos shared by Vendor Chelsea Jayne Weddings, the rest did not disappoint either. I loved the colour and style of the wedding and reached out to the bride, Tracey, to tell us more about her wedding day in Fiji:
We meet 11 years ago when we were 19, back home in New Zealand. We moved to Australia when we were 20 and we have called this home ever since.
We choose Fiji as we wanted a beautiful beach front wedding. We have seen the Bula Bride magazine and other weddings there and it just looked incredible.
We both work full time, and have very busy lives. I found Chelsea Jayne weddings online and we booked her to plan our wedding. She was absolutely amazing. She helped take the stress off planning a wedding in Fiji and the wedding was everything I imagined it to be. I loved every minute of it and wish we could relive this day again.
Our wedding day was so exciting, I had a suite for myself my gorgeous bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and mother of the groom. We all had lots of champagne and got our hair and makeup done, it was such a good day.
It did however rain all day. But was still very hot. As the day got to 2pm, we had to decide to have it inside or not. We were told by staff that the rain wouldn’t stop and best to move this inside. We just decided we didn’t come all the way to Fiji to have this indoors, a little bit of rain wouldn’t hurt us. We continued to keep the ceremony outside. At 4pm when I walked down the aisle the sun was shining and the rest of the night was just so calm and beautiful. Could not believe it, was really a dream.
Our wedding hair and makeup was done by Hair & Make Up Perfectionist. Highly recommend them, they were just amazing!!
My dress was by Made with love Bridal, brought in Melbourne Australia
The Bridesmaids dresses were from an online shop called the Iconic. The Groom & the guys wore shirts and pants from Politix.
We had our wedding ceremony at the beachfront courtyard area of the Sofitel Resort & SpaThe colours/themes we chose Lilac and royal blue. Chelsea Jayne organised this all for me. I just told her what I was after and she organised all the correct suppliers.
Our photographer was Leezett Photography. Leezett was amazing lady, she captured the whole of our beautiful day. I cannot thank her enough for the photos. I got sent a few companies from Chelsea Jayne and researched them all and just liked the style and look of Leezett company the most.
We didn’t have a videographer – this is the one thing we should have got but didn’t.
We had our reception at the beachfront courtyard area at the Sofitel Resort. We stuck with the lilac and blue colours on all the tables, Chelsea Jayne weddings organised this for us.
We had drinks available when we went to get photos taken. The dinner menu was the Sofitel’s Fiji buffet BBQ and OMG this was amazing! Everyone was saying how good the food was. Our wedding cake was made by Taste Fiji. At the end of the reception we went up to the bar at the Sofitel to have more drinks with family and friends.
