Hollie & James Fiji Wedding - Bula Bride

Hollie & James

I received this wedding in my inbox a few weeks ago and decided that this would be a great opportunity to showcase (in contradiction to our usual blogs) how you don’t always need to go beyond the package to have your dream Fiji wedding. If you choose the right resort, you can confidently plan everything in-house; organizing your wedding day with just your resort planner with very little stress.

Hollie and James’s wedding was an intimate affair of just 7, located at the picturesque Musket Cove Resort on Malolo Lailai. Almost all of the organization and set up was handled by the resort and Hollie’s advice to brides: “DO IT!! Find the resort and package that you want and leave all the organising up to the professionals. They made it so easy and stress free. On the day, everything was beyond my expectations, I’m so happy I chose to get married in Fiji!”

Hollie shares with us the planning for her wedding day:

Once we set our date for the big day they were informed that James’s family from the UK would be unable to attend. So on a holiday in James’s hometown in Cardiff, James and I arranged a special commitment ceremony so all of his family could be involved.

When planning the actual wedding day, we wished for a stress-free occasion in a magical place. After some researching, we found the perfect place for us, tropical, breathtaking Fiji.

Flowers / Hair & Make Up / Decor and Set Up: Organised by the resort

The dress: “Marnie” from Irene Costa’s Devine Bridal in Cairns

Music: We organised a playlist of our own music. We also had some of the resort staff play the guitar for our first dance.

Menu & Cake: All organized through the resort. The 1-tier chocolate cake was delicious!

The day after the wedding, James and I chartered a boat out to the sandbank to do a ‘Drown the Gown’ photography session with our photographer Laura.

The highlight for us was the amazing location surrounded by our loved ones. Also the morning after when we got up early and chartered a boat out to the sand cay where we “drowned the gown”.

Our amazing photographer Laura from Island Encounters Photography Fiji did a wonderful job of capturing our love for one another! It was the most incredible day, one we will never forget. We can’t wait to return.
