The start of 2016 for Fiji Weddings was all sorts of divine, and this little elopement one is one of the many coming out of Fiji.
Elopements are coming increasingly popular, especially in Fiji. They are the perfect idea if you want to get hitched without the hustle and bustle or on a little budget. Some couples decide to get hitched after booking their travel escapes, and some plan their travels around the elopement. No matter how they do it, elopements are special. The intimacy, the enjoyment of it being just you to is something super special.
Silver and Onne traveled from Estonia to Fiji for their elopement at Matamonoa Island Resort. Konrad Thorpe from KThorpe Photography was there to capture their day.
“Silver (Groom) contacted me in early January about him and his fiancee planning their intimate elopement at Matamanoa Island Resort. I was all for heading back there, as I loved my first visit to the resort, and had never shot a wedding there previously. All went well up until a week from the big day, when Fiji got issued a cyclone warning. Little did anyone know that it would be the largest cyclone to hit the southern hemisphere. This did send our initial plans into a bit of confusion, as no one was sure how badly Fiji would get affected. Thankfully, Matamanoa didn’t get badly affected, so we pushed the wedding date to Thursday, instead of Tuesday. The entire day went amazingly, and I’m sure the couple will have many fond memories and images of their secret getaway elopement in Fiji.” ~Konrad
