Getting married, let alone overseas, can be a stressful occasion. When a couple decides that Fiji is the perfect wedding destination, the next big decision is to narrow down the selection of options and pick the right venue to suit their needs.

If you feel a bit overwhelmed at the choice available, you’re not alone. Many couples now seek assistance from a professional wedding planner or travel agent to help guide them in the right direction for their dream wedding.

Destination Wedding Planners like Anita from Wedding Travel assist couples from all over the world to plan their wedding day. Wedding Planners can help you plan and take care of everything: from the celebrant right down to honeymoon packages that you’ll love. With fantastic travel discounts and great advice on a variety of destinations, you can be assured of a stress-free Fiji wedding you will never forget.

Anita loves a deal and especially likes to find the best price for her customers. She guarantees to make every effort to search all the options to meet your budget requirements. With this in mind, she completed a recent trip to Fiji to visit 25 (!) properties to make sure she is armed with the latest information on the property, has personally seen places she is recommending, and staying up to date with all of their latest wedding offers.

After a very intensive week of travel, here are Anita’s top picks for 2023 Fiji wedding destinations:

  • 1. NANUKU AUBERGE RESORT

What a beautiful property! From the moment you drive up the driveway you are transported into a property that screams of refinement. With a stunning oceanfront setting, Nanuku offers a relaxed environment and would be perfect for a small, intimate wedding – you could even have it in your own duplex bure with a personal full-size swimming pool. Sophisticated would be my word for this property – this relates to the food, the staff and the rooms themselves and a stay here would certainly not disappoint.

With completely customisable wedding packages, Nanuku is the perfect resort for those wanting something truly special.

  • 2. INTERCONTINENTAL FIJI RESORT & SPA

Still a favourite this contemporary resort never fails to disappoint. A truly 5-star property on a beautifully manicured Natadola Beach. The rooms are exquisitely appointed and all have a Cleopatra bath for that true luxury treat. There are some larger rooms in the Club room area which has its own lounge, restaurant and pool. There are plenty of spaces throughout the property for a wedding setup from the beach to beach-side cabana restaurants to multi-purpose air-conditioned function rooms.

Intercontinental is right next to Yatule Resort. This is an added bonus as Yatule is a smaller, more moderate property and the two offered together offer a perfect combination for a wedding group.

  • 3. TROPICA ISLAND RESORT

This is a great little property for those that want an adult-only resort but really want to create some special memories. Tropica is a unique oasis that embraces romance and the honeymoon suite overlooking the beautiful white sandy beach is heaven. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff and are so welcoming you instantly feel relaxed and welcome from the moment you arrive. Weddings are tailor-made which makes for a perfect island buyout catering for up to approximately 60 people.

  • 4. HILTON FIJI BEACH RESORT & SPA

One of my favourite properties in the Denarau area the Hilton Fiji keeps getting better and better. With areas to cater to adults only and families this property really does cater to everyone. The café L’Epicier has always been a favourite and this time it didn’t disappoint but there are plenty of food & beverage outlets at the Hilton including an adults-only restaurant. The surrounding Denarau resort restaurants as well as the port make this a perfect destination for the foodie is all of us! The rooms are a very high standard with every room offering a private terrace or balcony with the suites offering larger space and luxury. The award-winning spa is an idyllic location to relax and there are no less than 7 swimming pools!

  • 5. FIJI MARRIOTT MOMI BAY

This brand new 5-star property was lovely and obviously designed to embrace the tropical beauty of Fiji. The rooms were spacious and there are plenty of room categories so something to cater to every budget, including overwater villas and family suites. The food was exquisite and the beautiful azure water looked very inviting. A great alternative for those that don’t want to stay in the Denarau area but not far from the international airport. Weddings packages are available from small to very large.

Suggestions for hen & stag dos or just a great day trip for the whole group:

  • CLOUD 9

A cool little day trip to the absolutely beautiful Mamanuca waters – trust me you don’t even need a snorkel to see fish in the water; it is that clear! This funky floating pavilion is great for a group or couple day out. With hip sounds playing, cocktails, pizzas and swimming/snorkelling this is the perfect setting for a relaxing day in Fiji. Transport from either Denarau or the Coral Coast allows for anyone to travel to Cloud 9 and is well worth a visit.

  • MALAMALA BEACH CLUB

So you’re not staying at an island on your trip to Fiji? Malamala Beach Club is the next best thing! Located just a short 25-minute boat trip from Denarau this is the world’s first beach club located on its very own island. However, you can access Malamala from most parts of Fiji. A relaxed beach club environment that caters to adults and children alike, the facilities are amazing and if you don’t want to swim or snorkel in the stunning azure blue water of the South Pacific the infinity pool is an excellent alternative. There are large and small cabanas and my tip would be book these in advance for fear of missing out! The food is to die for and reasonably priced.

Malamala Beach Club is perfect for a wedding group buy-out!
