Wedding | Ashleigh & Clint | Sheraton Denarau

Clinton and Ashleigh’s wedding journey led them back to the place that stole their hearts—Fiji. After meeting through mutual friends in 2018, their relationship flourished, and in January 2023, Clinton proposed on the beachfront at Radisson Blu Denarau.

Their deep connection to Fiji was solidified during this family holiday, where they fell in love with the warmth of the people and the island’s beauty. So, when it came time to choose a wedding destination, returning to Fiji felt like the perfect choice. The couple was drawn to the breathtaking Chapel at the Sheraton, which sits elegantly over the water, offering a stunning ocean backdrop.

Wedding | Krista & Nathan | Shangri La

Nathan met his future wife in 2018 at the Penrith Panthers League Club. Although she was initially talking to one of his friends, Nathan persuaded her to follow his Instagram business page. The next day, she received a friend request from his personal account, which she initially ignored, thinking he wasn’t her type. However, after agreeing to go out to dinner with him, the two quickly became inseparable.

From the beginning, Nathan told her she wasn’t going anywhere, and although she jokingly told her family about her “stage five clinger,” they predicted she’d marry him one day. Now, six years later, they’re married, with two young children and a poodle completing their family.

Nathan originally planned to propose in Fiji on a private island, but due to COVID border concerns, he quickly had to come up with a new plan. On Christmas Eve, he placed a special gift under the tree, which his partner opened the next morning with their daughter by their side. Inside was a box that read, “Will you marry me?”—all caught on video, as they record themselves opening presents each year.

Wedding | Taylor & Ben | Plantation Island Resort

Taylor and Ben met by chance in early 2013 when Taylor accidentally attended the wrong party. Although none of her friends were there, she ended up meeting the right person, and over a decade later, they finally tied the knot.

In June 2023, while on holiday in Fiji, the couple watched a breathtaking sunset together. Taylor turned around to find Ben down on one knee, ready to ask the question that would lead to their happily ever after.

Elopement | Hannah & Andreas | Barefoot Manta Island

Hannah & Andreas met 10 years ago after Andreas returned from a year abroad in Australia. They realised that they had been living in the same small village almost their entire lives. Andreas proposed on Hannah’s favorite beach on La Gomera, a destination she has been returning to since she was little.

After traveling a lot over the last few years across all continents, they wanted to travel to the South Pacific. When choosing the country to marry in, it was important to them that the marriage could be legally recognized at home in Germany.

Elopement | Kelly & Jarmen | Malamala Beach Club

Kelly and Jarmen connected on Tinder and immediately clicked. They decided to forego a formal engagement and proceeded directly to marriage, as they had already planned a holiday in Fiji and thought it was the perfect opportunity to wed.

Kelly was never keen on a conventional wedding; she had always envisioned eloping to a tropical island. The laid-back allure of Fiji made it the ideal choice for their intimate paradise wedding.

Wedding | Virginia & Jesse | Plantation Island Resort

Jesse, from New Zealand, went to Canada to pursue his education & career. He found out he had an uncle in Canada and got in touch with him. This uncle turned out to be Virginia’s parents best friend. After Jesse and Virginia met, they were inseparable.

Jesse proposed to Virginia on a trip back to his home country of New Zealand. On day 3 of the 60km walk along the Abel Tasman Coast track, they woke up to watch sunrise in a beautiful private bay. Here Jesse proposed to Virginia in an unforgettable morning.

With friends and family coming from both sides of the world (Canada and New Zealand/Australia) it was easy to decide on a destination wedding. With recent family visiting the country of Fiji and speaking so highly about the friendly people, it was an easy choice.

Wedding | Chanel & Marcus | Sheraton Fiji

Chanel and Marcus were on a holiday in November 2022 at the Sheraton in Fiji with  Chanel’s family. Marcus proposed at sunset on the beachfront by the chapel. The sunset was beautiful that evening, it was very romantic and was a perfect proposal.

We catch up with bride Chanel on why they chose a destination wedding in Fiji:

We decided to tie the knot in Fiji, where our engagement unfolded in such a breathtaking manner that we couldn’t envision celebrating our wedding anywhere else but in the company of our loved ones.

Opting for the Sheraton was a natural choice, as it was the backdrop to our family holiday and engagement. The hotel’s exceptional service catered to the entire family, ensuring a delightful experience for all, including the children. We were keen for our guests to experience the same level of relaxation and enjoyment. Moreover, the venue’s outdoor area offered stunning backgrounds, ideal for capturing timeless photographs.

I have a penchant for organization and attention to detail. From the outset, we knew the Sheraton was our desired location. Countless hours were devoted to scouring Google, Bula Bride, Pinterest, and reading reviews, while social media provided insights from previous weddings to assist in vendor selection. This meticulous approach ensured that every aspect of our special day, from vendors to decor, was meticulously planned to create a truly magical experience.

Wedding | Hannah & Joe | Lomani Island Resort

Hannah & Joe officially met during the summer of 2018 through some mutual friends in Manhattan Beach, California. But they soon realized their paths had almost crossed many times over the years. They had a mutual family friend, their mums went to high school together, and their great grandparents were even neighbors. Needless to say, they not only had a lot in common, but they were able to vet each other quickly! Joe had glowing reviews from all the mutual contacts!

We catch up with Bride Hannah on what lead her to booking a destination wedding in Fiji:

Joe took me by complete surprise on December 23, 2021 when he dropped to one knee by the place where we had our first date in Manhattan Beach. We were on a beach walk with our dog, Cheddar, like we do almost daily, but this walk turned into something even more special!

I have had the honor of working with Tourism Fiji since 2019 and knew how special of a place Fiji is. We both decided we wanted a destination wedding and so Fiji felt like the natural fit! We agreed on it instantly. We were inspired by the beauty of Fiji! I wanted to feel very tropical, with native flowers and a local Fijian flair.
