Saskia & Ardie – Sheraton Wedding
Saskia & Ardie’s wedding caught our eye when Lydia from Totoka Hair & Make Up messaged me to say she had just done a stunning bride and thought the wedding was going to be equally as gorgeous. “I think the groom plays rugby” she said, and sent me a couple of sneak peak photos that had gone online. She wasn’t wrong about all her comments – the bride WAS gorgeous, the wedding WAS stunning, and the groom is well known Wellington rugby legend and All Black Ardie Savea. We couldn’t wait to take a look at this beautiful wedding!!
We catch up with bride Saskia on what went in to planning her wedding day in Fiji:

“We met at school through friends, and have been together ever since”
We choose Fiji as a location because we LOVE Fiji. We have been many times and always enjoy the atmosphere and people.
Researching and organising our wedding involved finding a resort, and then communicating with our awesome wedding planner, Miriama from Paradise Bride. She was incredible and did everything on the Fiji side of things, while we just decided on what bridal party will wear etc. She was amazing. Everything put together just looked gorgeous.
We got up, had breakfast, then hair and makeup started for the bridal party. We just had fun and got organised! I had a friend who came to do make-up for myself and my bridesmaids, as well as my hair. I also used Totoka Hair & Make Up (Lydia & Ludy) who did hair for my bridesmaids and a few others.
My dress was from Jane Yeh (Auckland, NZ)
The Bridesmaids dresses were from BLAK (NZ)
The Groom & the guys wore Barkers clothing.
The location was the beach front on the lawn at the Sheraton.
Paradise Bride provided and set up the décor at the ceremony as well as the flowers. The colours/themes we chose were rustic, beach, white and greenery.
The style of our ceremony was a casual ceremony, not traditional. It was just beautiful, and not too long.
Our photographer was Tom Hollow at Hollow & Co. from NZ. We were looking for natural, beautiful, beachy shots. Our photos are superb, they have turned out great!
The location was the Sheraton Fiji, beachfront next to the chapel. The colours/themes we chose was white & greenery. For cocktail hour we chose Malibu cocktails. The dinner menu was all sorts: lots of salads, fish, chicken, and a whole lot of sweet desserts for later.
Our wedding cake was made by the Sheraton and was vanilla and chocolate. The music/DJ/entertainment by part of Sheraton package – he was great. We danced until the end!
Our Advice to Other Brides
Communication is key. Also, persist on having wedding outdoors if you want it to be and want to risk weather, we did this and it turned out beautiful!
EVERYTHING, finally saying I DO to the love of my life. We just loved sharing this with close friends and family.
