Lia & Stu
We are a husband & wife team and love that we get to work side by side. We feel it is such an honour to be invited into one of the best days of a couple’s life together to capture the memories of a day that goes by in such a blur! We have such a strong connection and love for the ocean. One of our favourite things to do in our business would definitely be the underwater wedding portrait sessions. It’s a fun way for a bride to wear her wedding dress again and get some stunningly unique photos… plus the whole experience is a lot of fun!

Q&A with Stu & Malia
Tell us a little about your background?
We both grew up in California, moved away to Hawaii for Uni where we: met, fell in love, and got married. In 2010 we moved to Fiji.
How did you begin your business?
I (Malia) asked a friend of mine if I could shoot her engagement session when she got engaged. We drove all around the North Shore of Oahu finding different little spots to take photos and had a great time. When she saw the photos, she asked if I would shoot her wedding too. I immediately said no because I didn’t have any experience shooting weddings. She kept asking until I finally said “Okay, but if your wedding photos are terrible, it’s your fault not mine.” I shot her wedding, and was bitten by the wedding photography bug!
What do you enjoy the most about what you do?
Of course we love the actual wedding day, but I think what we love the most, is hearing back from couples after they receive their images and albums being completely blown away.
Your favourite location for a Fiji Wedding?
Give us some clear water, let us jump in, and we are in heaven!
Your favourite wedding you have looked after so far and why?
I think our favourite shoot to date would have to be the underwater wedding portraits we did with Kahi & Louise. This was the first time we went under the waves and the results were magic. It was a really stormy day and “victory at sea” so we didn’t know how it would turn out. As soon as we got underwater, it was a whole new world and there was a calmness even though a storm was raging just above the surface.
Favorite place to visit in Fiji?
Taveuni and Laucala… simply amazing!
All time favorite Love Song?
Too many to choose from and ever changing! Can we skip this one?
3 things you can’t live without?
Good Chapstick, the ocean, and our pups
Your favourite Cocktail?
Top tip for Bride & Grooms on their day?
Our top tip for couples would be to forget any and all stress that has led up to the day. This day is all about them so if they just focus on that, everything will be great! Things go wrong sometimes, but at the end of the day, they are married to their best friend and the little things don’t matter.
