The Recon. What am I talking about?
This should definitely be something to consider when starting to plan your Fiji Wedding. Once you have made a list of possible venues, its hard to imagine what the Ceremony & Reception will look/be like. How big is the space? How can I decorate it? What do the wet weather options look like? Whats around the area? These are all questions that are hard to answer if you haven’t visited any of the resorts or islands before.
I trailed through many photos of previous weddings to try and see examples of potential locations and setups with little sucess, the images provided by the resorts weren’t helping either. So we decided to head over there with 3 options in mind. BEST EXCUSE FOR HOLIDAY EVER!! ah hem, “Wedding Planning Trip”.
This was the best thing we did in planning our wedding. It gave us such a great sense of the resorts, the atmosphere, the food, the options and the opportunity to meet with the Wedding Planners one on one was so valuable. You could fire them questions and get the answers there and then without having too wait 2 weeks for an answer.
Unfortunately for us, we didn’t end up at the two venues we visited. Due to the Cyclone we had to move our wedding from Castaway Island to The Outrigger with 1 month to go. The Outrigger was on our list, but we got to caught up in Fiji Time and decided not to visit and relax by the pool instead. Thank god The Outrigger was wonderful!
So I’ll be sharing the other 2 venues with you. The Sheraton, Denarau Island and Castaway Island, The Mamanucas. The two features will also make a good case of Main Land vs The Islands. So stay tuned!
Are any of you planning a trip over to check out possible venues?
