I can’t recommend a Fiji Engagement Sessions enough while your in over, on a recon trip or before your big day. It’s the opportunity to capture the moment before you become Husband & Wife! And to get to know and get comfortable with your photographer.
Ashleigh share’s with us their story and their recon trip over to Fiji where they caught up with Michelle Cheer of Cheer Wedding Photography, for a very sweet session at The Garden of the Sleeping Giant.
Scott and I met through mutual friends back in April 2010, after being together for 3.5 years on 23rd December 2013, Scott took me to a surprise destination (Hunter Valley) where he had a helicopter waiting to take us to a lovely vineyard for lunch, arriving at the vineyard there was a cute little hut set up with flowers and 2 chairs looking over the vineyard, We sat and ate lunch…I then turned around and Scott was down on 1 knee asking me to marry him… I was in shock… OF COURSE I said yes 🙂
When we got engaged we thought we would have a long engagement, we had just purchased a block of land to build our first home on. We didn’t think getting married in the next 5 years would be possible.
In June 2014 my mother, sisters, niece, nephew and I went on a holiday for my mums 50th birthday to Naviti Resort, Fiji… A quiet girl’s week away relaxing and having fun. In returning from our holiday I said to Scott “There was a wedding when I was there, it was beautiful, How good would it be to get married overseas in Fiji” nothing more was said of it. We both didn’t think family would agree with getting married overseas. That was that. 4 days later Scott came to me and said “Ash, all I have been doing is dreaming of getting married in Fiji” So we looked into it, we both fell in love. July 2014 no hesitation we booked it.
Choosing our date of 06.06.2016 – We told our families, preparing for some negative feedback about it. Nope everyone loved the idea of a wedding and a holiday in one.
Since Scott had never been to Fiji we decided to go over and see the resort, meet with everyone and have a holiday. My Parents Lisa and Wayne came with us, Dad hadn’t been to Fiji either. In going over for a holiday and working out wedding stuff I thought what better time than to have our Fiji Engagement Session and meet our photographer before the wedding.
When I chose Michelle at Cheer Wedding Photography I knew I had made the right decision but meeting with Michelle has made me so happy, Michelle is amazing, very bubbly, and is very professional. Scott isn’t one to like photos she made him very comfortable on the day. Choosing Michelle to be our photographer is one decision I will never regret.
Planning the wedding has been quite a breeze really, Nunia at Naviti Resort is amazing always answering the 1000’s of questions I have for her, When meeting up with Nunia in June she was so helpful showing us where I wedding ceremony and reception is going to be, letting us see the 2 set ups of wedding that were at the resort during our stay. I can 100% say I am comfortable with how our wedding is planning. People say planning a wedding is stressful, nope not mine all my vendors have made it easy and fun so far. This next year cannot go quick enough, we both cannot wait to get married at the beautiful Naviti Resort.
