The Rhum-Bar Fiji - Bula Bride Fiji Weddings

The Rhum-Ba Fiji

Since the opening of the Rhum-Ba at the Denarau Yacht Club, I have been trying to visit to try it out, with no luck. My latest trip I was fortunate enough by accident.

We originally made plans to head into Nadi to Japanese Restaurant Daikoku for something a bit more light and fresh. We jumped in the cab and $25FJD later we arrived to Daikoku with a ‘fully booked’ sign out the front. So….NOTE TO SELF: Book if you want to eat at Daikoku!

Another $25FJD later we were back at Port Denarau and headed to The Rhum-Ba. Being low season it wasn’t very busy. We were greeted by the lovely hostess for the evening and given a little card to which will be our tab card for the evening.

We were then shown to a table out on the balcony by our waitress for the evening who was so lovely, truly some of the best service experienced in Denarau.

The fit out of The Rhum-Ba has a modern rustic charm, with a big white bar to the right full of Rhum (what else) a few beers on tap and a good wine selection. There is plenty of space for large groups or to go for an intimate dinner. The Rhum-Ba overlooks the water and boards tied up for the evening. I wish we got here a bit earlier for Sunset.

The menu to my surprise was pretty good. With a good variety of nibbles, entrees, mains and pizza. And the food itself was delish!

We started with the Beef Carpaccio and the warm Mixed Olives. Not being a Beef Carpaccio fan, I could it a whole plate of this! Then for mains, Hubby had the Seared Tuna and I, the Seafood Squid Ink Pasta. Both delish, except I had a bit of grit from the clams in mine. We couldn’t fit in dessert… oh wait… we did. It was Hubby’s choice – The Apple Tartan with Pistachio Ice Cream. Need I say more.

The Rhum-Ba is the perfect place to come for Lunch or Dinner, I like that it was tucked away from the main restaurants at the Port too. Great for Pre or Post Wedding Drinks or Dinner OR even your wedding reception! The Rhum-Ba has a large room for private events above the restaurant with views sweeping the water & mountains of Viti Levu.
