While in Fiji I had a half an hour window to do some shopping in Sigatoka Town (The Salad Bowl) on the Coral Coast. I used the time to snap up some Fiji wedding favour ideas, what you can find in the shops in Fiji. For me I’d rather by local, not only to save lugging over 50 thong bottle openers, but its nice to give guests a little souvenir to take and remember the reflect back on the trip that was.

I hear to often Brides asking where they can buy rattan fans from in Australia. DON’T! There are plenty in Fiji and most of all you are supporting the Fijian people when you buy over there. A little tip – look out for the ‘Fijian Made‘ Symbol. This means that the product is made and sourced locally, and recognised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as being 100% Fijian. When you buy a Fijian produced product or service, you’re helping to create jobs, promote growth.

There are a variety of places where you can source your favours, gifts or welcome bag treats. The obvious two are Tapoo and Jacks Fiji. Jacks Fiji you can find in most major locations and cities in Fiji – they even pop up in majority of the big resorts. These shops are great for last minute buys!

I always recommend going through someone a little smaller like Versatile Fiji or Grace Creations Fiji that can source majority of the items shown in this posts. This again helps support smaller business and they source from local villagers. Another plus is that they can get your favour items customised with wood carvers, are little bit cheaper than the big stores and can deliver to your resort! But if you are unsure of what you are after fly in a day or two early to allow yourself time to shop for Fiji wedding favours.
