Gosh there is some mighty fine fashion talent in Fiji. Particularly with resort wear. I’m always looking out for local talent and Desert Flower Fiji certainly caught my eye with their perfectly tropical prints.
The concept of the new and Fiji Made resort line Desert Flower was born in the Fiji Islands when a French fashion designer, Alexandra Poenaru-Philp, made it her home with her Fiji born husband.
With over 12 years of experience in the fashion industry, including 8 years working for various fashion houses in Paris, Alexandra has worked for over 26 labels and more than 55 collections, internationally.
She is based in Fiji since 4 years and is also the designer behind the new Fiji airline: FIJI AIRWAYS uniforms, which ranked 4th best place in the world airline uniforms.
The Desert Flower resort line brings a new style; modern and fresh, into the Fiji made fashion.
Using the wonderful beauties and resources that Fiji provides, inspired by the essence of the Island lifestyle and finally mixed with the designer’s international eye and experience, Desert Flower created a product which is easy to wear and to ad to your wardrobe.
With this range Desert Flower I wanted to create a more cosmopolitan fashion for the Fiji made industry, with garments that can be worn not only in the resorts, streets and beaches of Fiji but also anywhere else in the world. ~Alex
Desert Flower is sold Exclusively in a selection of TAPPOO stores and I can’t wait to get my hands on the ‘Wish I was in Fiji’ T-Shirt. The full stockist list can be found on the Desert Fiji website and social media.
