Ciara & Blake Fiji Weddings - Bula Bride

Ciara & Blake

This gorgeous wedding landing in my inbox recently and having met Ciara last year, it was delightful to be able to look through her wedding album. My favourite aspect of her wedding from an inspiration point of view has to be the flowers; the fern and orchid combination is stunning and it’s nice to see an alternative from the usual tropical flowers especially if you desire a colour palette that is more neutral.

Bula Bride catches up with Ciara to get all the details on her Fiji wedding:

Blake and I met 5 years beforehand at his work Christmas party. I was at the same hotel with a mutual friend.
We were sold on the idea of getting married in Fiji – having a holiday with all our friends and family at the same time seemed like our ideal wedding. We both knew that if we were to get married it wouldn’t be anywhere but Fiji.

Our highlight was seeing our family and friends enjoy the day we had spent so much time and effort into planning and really seeing it all come together. Everyone was amazing from The Outrigger staff to all of our guests – we couldn’t have had the day we had without them all!
Totoka Hair & Make Up Fiji worked their magic on my bridal party and myself and were unbelievable! They made the start of my wedding day full of laughs and most of all stress free!

I had my dress made by Two Birds Bridal in Weatherill Park, NSW. They were amazing with my ever changing mind and helping me select a fabric which would be light for Fiji and suit my style. My bride tribe wore Piper Lane dressed in a navy blue with white shoes and looked amazing against all the beautiful greenery.

Our wedding was held at the Bure Ni Loma Chapel, but initially we wanted the Reef Lawn. We made a trip to The Outrigger 2 years beforehand to make sure we were happy with what we had selected and it was the best decision we made. We realised the Reef Lawn was too small for what we needed and were blown away when we saw the view from the Chapel.

For our colours/themes of the day we wanted to keep it simple with lots of green ferns & white orchids on beautiful tripods at the alter, which I didn’t even notice until I saw photos afterwards as I was so nervous! We really wanted to channel Fiji and let the scenery speak for itself . Our bouquets were all provided by The Outrigger – again beautiful greenery & white orchids to tie in with our theme.

Michelle from Cheer Photography captured our day and I couldn’t recommend her more! She has such a beautiful soul and brought such an amazing vibe, we were truly blessed to have her apart of our day.

We had our reception at the Vahavu Restaurant – Having the infinity pool lit up in the background was stunning. The décor and set up of the space was all provided by The Outrigger – again beautiful ferns, palms & white orchids for the table centrepieces, warm white fairy lights draping the ceiling and behind the bridal table and black chair sashes.

DJ Ranjit had us covered for our entertainment and made sure the whole night ran smoothly and kept everyone dancing. The official end time was 10pm but that didn’t stop us making a quick change and continuing at the Kalokalo Bar!

My advise to other brides planning a Fiji wedding is make sure to enjoy every second because it goes so fast and really try not to overthink the little things. If you stress about small things being a little different to what you planned it you’ll miss out on all the fun!
