Today on Bula Bride i’m very excited to give you a behind the scenes sneak peak into the new bridal collection for Desert Flower. The collection entitled ‘Kai Viti Queen’ is made of silk and is a higher end fashion range that will complete Desert Flower’s previous collections.
Exclusively for Bula Bride we go backstage of the creation aspect of the label: in Alexandra Poenaru-Philp the label’s designer office, in Vuda Point – Fiji Islands.
Desert Flower is the result of what the Fiji Islands inspired Alexandra when she moved from Paris and made Fiji her home, over 5 years ago.
From the drawing and painting inspirations, the color selection, the fabric selection, the swatch development all the way to the final prototypes. Every single stage of the development is important for Alexandra, in order to arrive to a quality final product.
The collection is the perfect for getting ready with your maids. Not only can they be worn for this but also there after, making the perfect resort-wear garments. From pool to cocktail hour, day trips snorkelling, or to slip on headed to the spa. They are light and breezy, perfect for the tropical heat.
Below is the first campaign shoot for the collection, captured by Kama Catch Me.
Keep an eye out next year as I will be work on a special collaboration bridal ware piece with Desert Flower!
